34058 Sir Frederick Pile, SR Battle of Britain Class
A preserved SR West Country / Battle of Britain locomotive, built in 1947. Rescued from Woodham Brothers' scrapyard at Barry, South Wales.
Rebuilt by R. G. Jarvis at Eastleigh in November 1960 from the original Bulleid air-smoothed form. Withdrawn from BR service October 1964 and rescued from Barry scrapyard. Owned by Southern Locomotives Ltd, a major Bulleid-Pacific-focused preservation organisation also operating 34010 Sidmouth, 34028 Eddystone, 34053 Sir Keith Park, 34070 Manston, and 34072 257 Squadron.
Last recorded as based at the Swanage Railway, owned by Southern Locomotives Ltd. Operating status: Under restoration. Current livery: Stripped/under restoration.
