35005 Canadian Pacific, SR Merchant Navy Class
A preserved SR Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 Pacific, built at Eastleigh Works in 1941 as SR No. 21C5, one of the earliest Merchant Navys built in wartime black livery. Rebuilt by British Railways. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1965. Rescued from Woodham Brothers' scrapyard at Barry, South Wales.
35005 Canadian Pacific is one of only three Merchant Navy Pacifics to have operated on the national main line in preservation, alongside 35018 British India Line and 35028 Clan Line. Based at and operated by the Mid-Hants Railway.
Last recorded as based at the Mid-Hants Railway, owned by Canadian Pacific Locomotive Co Ltd. Operating status: Heritage railway service / cycles. Current livery: BR Brunswick green.

Notable history
35005 Canadian Pacific was built at Eastleigh Works in 1941 as SR No. 21C5, the fifth Merchant Navy produced and one of the earliest wartime-built examples, entering service in dark wartime black. Rebuilt in 1959. Withdrawn in 1965 and sent to Barry. Rescued from Barry scrapyard and restored to working order, she is based at the Mid-Hants Railway and has operated on the main line in preservation. One of only three Merchant Navys to have run on the national main line in preservation alongside 35018 British India Line and 35028 Clan Line.
