35006 Peninsular & Oriental S.N. Co., SR Merchant Navy Class
A preserved SR Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 Pacific, built at Eastleigh Works in 1941 as SR No. 21C6. One of the last two Merchant Navys rebuilt by British Railways (alongside 35028 Clan Line), converted in October 1959. Withdrawn from British Railways service in August 1964 after 1,134,319 miles. Rescued from Woodham Brothers' scrapyard at Barry, South Wales.

35006 Peninsular and Oriental S.N. Co. — carrying what is believed to be the longest official name of any preserved steam locomotive in Britain, its full title being Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company — was built at Eastleigh Works in 1941 as SR No. 21C6. Together with 35028 Clan Line she was one of the last two Merchant Navys to be rebuilt by British Railways, both converted at Eastleigh in October 1959. Withdrawn in August 1964 with a final mileage of 1,134,319 and sold to Woodham Brothers at Barry for £350. Rescued from Barry and restored to working order, she is based at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway.
