35018 British India Line, SR Merchant Navy Class
A preserved SR Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 Pacific, built at Eastleigh Works in 1945 as SR No. 21C18. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1967 at the end of Southern Region steam. Rescued from Woodham Brothers' scrapyard at Barry, South Wales.
35018 British India Line is one of only three Merchant Navy Pacifics to have operated on the national main line in preservation. Restored and operated by West Coast Railways at Carnforth, she hauls excursions on routes across the national network.
Last recorded as based at West Coast Railways, Carnforth, owned by West Coast Railways. Operating status: Main-line certified. Current livery: BR Brunswick green.

Notable history
35018 British India Line was built at Eastleigh Works in 1945 as SR No. 21C18. Withdrawn at the end of Southern Region steam in 1967 and sent to Barry scrapyard. Rescued from Barry and restored to working order at West Coast Railways, Carnforth, she gained main-line certification and has operated extensively on national network excursions. One of only three Merchant Navys to have run on the main line in preservation alongside 35005 Canadian Pacific and 35028 Clan Line.
