5593 Kolhapur, LMS Jubilee Class

A preserved LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0, built at Crewe Works in 1936. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1967. Preserved directly without passing through Barry scrapyard.

5593 Kolhapur is one of only two Jubilee class locomotives fitted with a double chimney and modified draughting, applied in 1961 — the other being 5596 Bahamas. Currently awaiting overhaul at West Coast Railways, Carnforth.

Last recorded as based at West Coast Railways, Carnforth, owned by West Coast Railways (David Smith). Operating status: Awaiting overhaul. Current livery: LMS Crimson Lake.
