5699 Galatea, LMS Jubilee Class

A preserved LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0, built at Crewe Works in 1935. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1964. Rescued from Woodham Brothers' scrapyard at Barry, South Wales and restored to main-line working order.

5699 Galatea is main-line certified and based at West Coast Railways, Carnforth, where it hauls regular charter excursions across the national network including services on the Settle and Carlisle line.

Last recorded as based at West Coast Railways, Carnforth, owned by the North of England Historic Railway Trust. Operating status: Main-line certified. Current livery: BR Brunswick green.
