5764, GWR 5700 Class (Severn Valley Railway)
Built 1929 at Swindon, a preserved GWR 5700 Pannier Tank locomotive built in 1927. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1962. Acquired for preservation in 1973.
5764 was withdrawn by BR in 1962 and sold to London Transport in the same year, working Metropolitan Line engineering trains until 1971. Acquired by the SVR in 1973, the engine has given decades of working service on the line.
