30777 Sir Lamiel, SR King Arthur Class (Great Central Railway)
NBL Glasgow 23206, 1925, a preserved SR King Arthur locomotive built in 1923. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1961. Acquired for preservation in 1961.
30777 Sir Lamiel was completed by the North British Locomotive Company in October 1925 as one of the thirty NBL-built SR King Arthur Class engines. The engine carried the name of the second Knight of the Round Table to ride out from Camelot. Withdrawn from BR in October 1961, the engine is the only surviving King Arthur of any type, North British, LSWR-built, or Eastleigh, and has been a long-time main-line performer in preservation.
Last recorded as based at the Great Central Railway, owned by Humberside Locomotive Preservation Group. Operating status: Heritage railway service / main-line registered. Current livery: SR Maunsell olive green / BR Brunswick green (varies by overhaul).
