46235 City of Birmingham, LMS Princess Coronation Class

A preserved LMS Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 Pacific, built at Crewe Works in 1939 as LMS No. 6235 City of Birmingham. Withdrawn from British Railways service in 1964 and preserved as part of the city's industrial heritage collection.

46235 City of Birmingham is displayed at Thinktank, the Birmingham Science Museum, where it is sealed within the building as a static exhibit — the locomotive is not accessible for operation or external display, being permanently incorporated into the museum's structure. One of three surviving Princess Coronation class Pacifics, alongside 46229 Duchess of Hamilton at the NRM and 46233 Duchess of Sutherland at Butterley.

The locomotive is permanently installed in the museum building and is not accessible for external display or operation.
