30583, LSWR Adams Radial 4-4-2T
A preserved LSWR Adams Radial Tank 4-4-2T suburban passenger locomotive, built at Brighton Works in 1885 to William Adams's design — a compact, capable radial-axle tank that was a mainstay of the London and South Western Railway's suburban and branch passenger services for over four decades. One of the oldest surviving LSWR locomotives in preservation.
30583 represents the Adams tank tradition on the LSWR — the suburban and secondary services that ran across Surrey, Hampshire, and the South Western main line before electrification transformed the network in the SR era. Based at the Bluebell Railway as a static display.
