The BR Class 46 Peak was the third variant of the Peak 1Co-Co1 family, differing from the Class 45 in using Brush rather than Crompton Parkinson electrical equipment — see the main BR Class 46 entry for full details. 56 were built between 1961 and 1963, and four examples are preserved: 46010, 46035, 46045, and D172 Ixion.
