48431, LMS Stanier 8F

A preserved LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 heavy freight locomotive, built at Swindon Works in 1944 under wartime government contract — one of the 8Fs built by the GWR at Swindon for LMS use, an unusual inter-company arrangement made necessary by the scale of wartime locomotive production demands. Now on static display at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

Last recorded as based at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, owned by the KWVR. Operating status: Static display. Current livery: BR unlined black.
