7325, GWR 4300 Class Mogul

Built at Swindon in February 1932 at a cost of £5,161 and entering service as GWR No. 9303, from the last batch of twenty 4300s. These carried Collett's revisions to Churchward's original design, with a side-window cab, outside steam pipes and a screw reverser, which is why the Severn Valley crews call it the Collett mogul. It went new to Penzance and later worked from Old Oak Common, Oxford, Reading, Tyseley, Chester, Pontypool Road, Newport Ebbw Junction and Severn Tunnel Junction.

Withdrawn from Pontypool Road in April 1964 and sold to Woodham Brothers at Barry, it was bought in May 1974 through a fundraising campaign by the GWR (SVR) Association. It first steamed again on 25 June 1992 as 9303, reverting to 7325 six months later in BR green. A badly leaking boiler took it out of service in 2000.

Steamed again in 1992 and main-line certified during the 1990s, but withdrawn in 2000 with boiler problems and out of service since. Moved to Bridgnorth in December 2025 for an engineering assessment. The Association is raising funds to return it to Collett condition as 9303, so the number it carries may change.
