Notable history

Built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry in 1967 and delivered new to the North Eastern Region. It worked from a number of depots including Toton, and finished its British Rail career at Thornaby, from where it was bought for use on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
