419, Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T

A preserved Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T suburban tank locomotive, built at St Rollox Works, Glasgow in 1907 for the Caledonian Railway's suburban passenger services. One of the very few surviving Caledonian Railway locomotives in operational condition. Owned by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society and based at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway.

419 represents the Caledonian Railway's suburban motive power tradition — the workhorse tank engines that handled the dense Glasgow commuter traffic alongside the express 4-4-0s and 4-6-0s of the main line. One of the rarest pre-Grouping Scottish types in preservation and a regular performer at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway.

Last recorded as based at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, owned by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society. Operating status: Heritage railway service / cycles. Current livery: Caledonian blue.
