323 Bluebell, SECR P Class

A preserved SECR P Class 0-6-0T light tank locomotive, built at Brighton Works in 1910. One of the longest-resident locomotives at the Bluebell Railway, where it was present from the earliest days of preservation.

323 Bluebell carries the distinction of being named after its preservation host — the Bluebell Railway Preservation Society naming the locomotive when it was acquired, making it the only preserved locomotive to bear the name of the heritage railway on which it operates. A working ambassador for the Bluebell Railway and a connection to the very beginning of the heritage railway movement in Britain.

Last recorded as based at the Bluebell Railway, owned by the Bluebell Railway. Operating status: Working heritage railway service. Current livery: SECR Wainwright lined green.
