Connex South Eastern / c2c

About

'Connex South Eastern / c2c' is used in this encyclopedia for the privatised Train Operating Companies that took over the Network SouthEast's Kent and London-Tilbury-Southend operations from 1996. Connex South Eastern (1996–2003, French operator Connex/Veolia) operated the Kent franchise until its termination by the Strategic Rail Authority in November 2003 over service-quality concerns; Govia Thameslink Railway (Southeastern) took over from 2006.

c2c (officially 'LTS Rail' until 2000, latterly Trenitalia c2c) operates the London Tilbury & Southend route from Fenchurch Street, taking over from BR Network SouthEast on 26 May 1996. It runs an intensive third-rail electrified commuter service to Essex.
