Notable history
Built at Stratford Works in May 1905 as Great Eastern Railway No. 1217, originally a class F48 (LNER J16). It was superheated and given a vacuum ejector in September 1923, which reclassified it as a J17, and it is the only member of the class left.
Part of the National Collection, it moved to Barrow Hill Roundhouse in 2008 and remains there on static display.
