One:One Collection, Margate
A private railway collection and museum-in-the-making at Margate in Kent, occupying the former Hornby factory and warehouse site. It is a storage and display collection rather than an operating railway: there is no running line.
History
Locomotive Storage Ltd, the vehicle for the railway collection of Jeremy Hosking, bought the former Hornby factory and warehouse site at Margate in February 2017 to house full-size locomotives and rolling stock under cover. Developed with former Hornby chief executive Frank Martin, the One:One Collection takes its name from the scale of the exhibits, in contrast to the models made next door. It holds around twenty-five full-size locomotives alongside rolling stock, memorabilia and a substantial collection of engineered models. The collection has opened to the public at intervals while the permanent museum has been developed, and it continues to grow.
