The Liverpool and Manchester Railway Lion is covered in the main L&MR <em>Lion</em> entry — the 1838 Todd, Kitson & Laird-built 0-4-2 tender locomotive that is one of the oldest surviving working steam locomotives in the world, famous for its appearances in film and television and its remarkable survival from the early railway age. Lion is preserved at the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Liverpool.
