Richard Marsh

Biography

Richard Marsh was a British Railways engineer associated with the Scottish Region's electric multiple-unit fleet, in particular the British Rail Class 311 EMUs ordered for the Glasgow North Clyde and Cathcart Circle electrification of 1967. Limited contemporary biographical detail is publicly available.

Marsh's name appears on the design records of several BR Scottish Region traction projects of the 1960s; the Class 311s were built by Pressed Steel and entered service in 1967 on the Inverclyde, Argyle and Cathcart Circle lines, working until 1990.
